A Day Club is a group of people who meet regularly (usually weekly) in their local community to participate in a varied program of stimulating activities. Day Clubs provide social and recreational activities for veterans, their spouses, war widows/widowers and any other members of the community.
Most Day Clubs are sponsored by an ex-service organisation (ESO) and operate with some assistance from the Department of Veterans' Affairs. Day Clubs are run by volunteers and are not-for-profit organisations. It is not required that you be a member of an ESO or a veteran to belong to a Day Club.
This website provides you with information about Day Clubs, and links you to people in DVA who can help you locate and join a Day Club in your local community – or help you start one yourself.
