Repatriation Health & Pharmaceutical Cards
Repatriation health & pharmaceutical cards are issued by the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) to veterans and dependants who are eligible under the Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986 for treatment at the Department's expense.
Three types of repatriation health & pharmaceutical cards are issued by DVA:

The Gold Card enables the holder to access health care and related services for all health care needs, for all conditions, whether they are related to war service or not.
A comprehensive range of medical, hospital, pharmaceutical, dental

Repatriation Health Card - For Specific Conditions (White Card)

The White Card enables the holder to access health care and associated services for war or service-related conditions. On application, veterans of Australian forces may also be issued this card to receive treatment for malignant cancer, pulmonary tuberculosis and post traumatic stress disorder, irrespective of whether these conditions are related to war service or not.
White Card holders are eligible to receive, for specific conditions, treatment from registered medical, hospital, pharmaceutical, dental and allied health care providers with whom DVA has arrangements. Travel assistance may also be available to and from the nearest health care facilities where treatment is being provided.
A White Card is also issued to ex-service personnel who are eligible,
under arrangements between the Australian government and New Zealand,
Canada, South Africa and the United Kingdom, for treatment of conditions
accepted as war-caused by their country of origin.
Important points
Please note that treatment limits apply to some services. These include
pharmaceuticals where a small fee is required for each prescription
(up to the safety net level), certain high-cost dental services where
an annual financial limit applies, certain optical items and home care
services.
Repatriation Pharmaceutical Benefits Card (Orange Card)

The Orange card enables the holder to access the range of pharmaceutical
items available under the Repatriation Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme
(RPBS).
The Orange card entitles the holder to purchase pharmaceutical items
at a concessional rate. When the annual safety net level is reached
there are no
further co-payment charges for RPBS-listed items for that calendar year. The
Orange card also entitles the holder to receive a fortnightly Pharmaceutical
