Assessment of my claim
Claims for compensation are considered on their individual merits. When you lodge your claim, the Department will gather all relevant evidence. This includes evidence of service and medical history. A claims assessor will examine that evidence to see whether the circumstances of your claim satisfy the requirements of the Act your claim is being assessed under, to establish whether the condition/s claimed are caused by your service.

Review Rights
If you are not satisfied with the outcome of your claim, you can request a review by either the Repatriation Commission, Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission or by the Veterans' Review Board (VRB), an independent statutory authority. The review path available to you will depend on the Act your claim is determined under. When a decision is made you will be provided with information about the review options available to you.
