Services Division report

  • DVA's arrangement with Tasmanian public hospitals - extended to30 June 2012.
  • Five health complaints since last DCCF.
  • VAPAC arrangements for influenza vaccination.
  • The rollout of replacement DVA health cards and the extension to overseas clients.
  • Ongoing negotiations with State government on capitation model for funding of ambulance services.
  • Business Partnership Agreement with DoHA on residential aged care.

Support Division report

  • Restructure of Rehabilitation Compensation Group with effect 1 June with DCs taking over claims processing on 1 July.
  • Review of DVA funded ESO Advocacy and Welfare Services Key Issues Paper - submissions closing soon.
  • The report of the Review of Military Compensation Arrangements has been drafted and expected to be delivered to the Minister in the next couple of months.
  • Extension of Transition Management Service to 30 June 2011.

General business

  • Complaints Management Feedback System - copy of the facts sheet was provided and the July statistics were advised.
  • Reminder that submissions for the National Commission on the Centenary of ANZAC Celebrations close soon. Tasmania has five submissions to date.
  • Roll out of MRCA E-learning in Tasmania and recent training of TIP trainers.
  • Veterans Satisfaction Survey (VSS) and the difference in satisfaction levels between the general population and the under 45 population.

Other matters

  • The following briefings were very well received:
    • Choice and Maintainability in Veterans Services (CMVS) presented by Mark Williams, and Tony Pianca of the ICT Solutions Group.
    • Serving in the ADF today - by forum member MAJ Annette Wyatt 2 FSB.
  • ESO Group discussion on 'Younger Veterans and your organisation'

Action Required

  • The Forum requested a briefing by Services Division on Discharge Planning. This would be an opportunity for National Manager, Primary Health to attend the
    next consultative forum.
  • The Forum requested the Deputy Commissioner elevate to the ESO Round Table the consideration of a way to identify eligible veterans who do not possess a treatment card.
