Simpson Prize Competition

The Simpson Prize is a research-based competition open to students in Years 9 and 10.  The competition encourages participants to focus on the significance of Anzac Day and to consider what Anzac Day means to them and to Australia.

Eight winners, one from each Australian State and Territory, accompanied by two teachers and an Australian War Memorial representative travel to Gallipoli or the Western Front in April of the following year to attend the Anzac Day ceremonies.

The competition is funded by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations and run by the History Teachers’ Association of Australia.
