The 70th Anniversary of the Fall of Singapore
The Australian Department of Veterans’ Affairs will be conducting a Commemorative Service at the Kranji War Memorial Cemetery, Singapore at 7am on 15 February 2012.
The Kranji War Memorial Cemetery is located at 9 Woodlands Road, Singapore (near Kranji Racecourse).
Members of the public are requested to arrive by 6:45am sharp.
Wreath laying
There will be an opportunity for guests to lay a floral tribute at the conclusion of the service. Please bring your floral tribute with you and the Master of Ceremonies will announce the appropriate time for you to lay your tribute.
Seating
Please be aware there will be no seating available for members of the public. Please also note that this service will be held outdoors and you should bring adequate protection from the weather.
Parking
Parking is limited. Please note that there is no parking available in the cemetery car park. However, arrangements have been made to make parking available in the grassed area adjacent to the cemetery – enter via Woodlands Road
Local police will be directing traffic on the road leading into Kranji War Cemetery before and after the ceremony. Please follow their instructions carefully. You will be directed to the parking area located a short walk from the cemetery.
Please note there will be limited lighting and you may require a torch to move from your vehicle to the cemetery.
