Remembering our World War 1 & World War 2 Dead

The human toll of WW1 and WW2 combined, worldwide, was over 77 million lives. Over 1 700,000 men and women of the Commonwealth forces died, and over 100,000 of these were Australians.

Our WW1 and WW2 war dead lie all around the world. Those whose graves are known rest in war and civil cemeteries where orderly headstones state their details. Those who were known to have been cremated are commemorated on cremation memorials. Those with no known grave are commemorated on Memorials to the Missing.
