Warrant Officer KA Wheatley, Australian Army Training Team Vietnam (AATTV), posthumously awarded the first Victoria Cross awarded in Vietnam.

Prime Minister Harold Holt visits Australian forces in Vietnam.

Australian Task Force of 4500 service personnel is established at Nui Dat, Vietnam.
