Introduction of compulsory military training.

Five Commonwealth Government factories established in New South Wales and Victoria to supply Commonwealth forces with basic arms and equipment.

20 September 1912

Formation of Australian Flying Corps (AFC), the forerunner of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF).
