Australia's compelling wartime and peacekeeping history may be enough to engage attention, but for an added incentive, there are a number of awards and competitions throughout Australia to give you and your students focus and purpose.

Anzac Day Schools Awards School activities to commemorate Anzac Day qualify for entry into DVA's annual awards, where enterprise is rewarded.

National History Challenge This research-based competition is for students in Years 5 to 12 at Australian schools.

Simpson Prize Competition Year 9 and 10 Australian students can enter essays or audio-visual presentations in this national competition which selects winners from each State and Territory.
