90th Anniversary of the Armistice

Re-dedication at Le Hamel

The Australian Corps Memorial Park at Le Hamel will be re-dedicated on Saturday 8 November 2008. Details follow.

Time

The ceremony will start at 3.00 pm (1500 hours) sharp. It is recommended that you arrive at Le Hamel well before 2.30 pm (1430 hours).

Parking and shuttle bus

Local police will be directing traffic on all roads leading into Le Hamel. Please follow their instructions carefully.

Shuttle buses will leave every few minutes from the village hall—the Salle des Fêtes—starting at 2.00 pm (1400 hours). The shuttle service will continue back to the village after the ceremony.

No vehicular access to the memorial site will be permitted, except for a few authorised vehicles (e.g. buses for groups, official cars).

After the ceremony

You will be directed down the road leading to the village. Shuttle buses will be waiting to take you to the parking area or to the village hall for the reception. If you prefer to walk, please be wary of the bus traffic.

Remembrance Day ceremony at Villers-Bretonneux

The Remembrance Day ceremony will be held at the Australian National Memorial on Tuesday 11 November 2008.

Time

The ceremony will start at 10.15 am (1015 hours) sharp. It is recommended that you arrive in Villers-Bretonneux well before the ceremony commences.

Parking

Local police will be directing traffic on all roads leading into Villers-Bretonneux before and after the ceremony. Please follow their instructions carefully.

You will be directed to the parking areas located on the the side of road RD 23.

After the ceremony

While driving, please be wary of pedestrians who will be walking on the road to get back to their cars.

General information for both sites

Seating

Limited seating will be provided but standing room will be available. Ushers will assist you.

Wreath laying

If you intend to make a floral offering, please bring it with you. The Master of Ceremonies will invite you to lay the wreath at the appropriate time.
