Australian Embassies and High Commissions around the world conduct their own Anzac Day ceremonies. Anzac Day 2016, Sandakan Memorial Park, Sabah, Malaysia

An official Anzac Day Dawn Service will be held at the Sandakan Memorial Park on Monday, 25 April 2016, commencing at 5.30am. The Sandakan Memorial Park is located on the site of the Second World War Sandakan Prisoner of War Camp.

The official Anzac Day Dawn Service in Sandakan is conducted by the Australian Government and is made possible with the assistance of the local communities of Sandakan.

The commemorative service is open to the public. The details for the official service are:

Registration for the 2016 Sandakan Anzac Day Dawn Service is now available. To assist in the planning and delivery of the service, please complete the appropriate registration form and submit to Miss Jenna Lobb via email: Jenna.Lobb@dva.gov.au or register by phone on (02) 6289 6009.

Laying of private wreaths/floral tributes

For those who wish to lay a private wreath or floral tribute at the Anzac Day Dawn Service, there will be an opportunity to do so towards the end of the service. If you intend laying a private wreath or floral tribute, it is essential that you please complete the private wreath/floral tribute registration form and submit this to Miss Jenna Lobb via email: Jenna.Lobb@dva.gov.au  or register by phone on (02) 6289 6009.

Important: There is no capacity to receive deliveries of wreaths or floral tributes at the Sandakan Memorial Park. Please ensure that if you intend to lay a wreath or floral tribute you organise it in advance and bring it with you to the Dawn Service.
