IT Employment Registers

Do you want to gain valuable work experience during semester breaks or be employed for up to 12 months? The Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) may have opportunities for IT undergraduates or graduates. DVA has a diverse environment with integrated systems across multiple platforms:, MVS, NT and Windows 2000. This environment also includes a number of languages such as VB, Delphi, Visual C++, Objectstar and Cobol.

DVA currently has two IT employment registers:

IT Work Experience/Vacation Work Register

The IT work experience/vacation work register is for IT undergraduates who wish to acquire vacation employment or work experience with the Department. This work is purely voluntary and as such is not a paid position.

IT Temporary Employment Register

The IT temporary employment register is for IT graduates who wish to register for temporary, or non-ongoing, positions with the Department. To be eligible to place your details on this employment register, you must have completed at least a three year degree in Computing or IT and have your qualifications recognised by the National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition (NOOSR) if they were obtained overseas.

To apply for either of the two Registers, you must be an Australian citizen. If you are, fill in the application form and send to:
