Orthoptics

Orthoptics is the practice of correcting defective vision, usually by exercises to strengthen weak eye muscles. Generally, orthoptists practice under the direction of an ophthalmologist.

Gold Card holders are eligible for orthoptic services. White Card holders are eligible when the condition being treated is an accepted disability.

Referral to an orthoptist from a Local Medical Officer or specialist is required.
