The Australian Government will invest $1.46m in a research project to enhance treatment programs for current and former Australian military personnel with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in a bid to improve their mental health and wellbeing and better support their families.

Australian Defence Force servicewomen with dependent children who served in the Middle East Area of Operations (MEAO) found their experience of deployment positive and self-validating, according to research released today by Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, Stuart Robert, and Assistant Minister for Defence, Darren Chester.

The Spirit of Anzac Centenary Experience travelling exhibition has officially opened in Bendigo. The interactive experience includes more than 200 artefacts normally housed at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra.
